Academic programmes

In an independent government inspection on 22 May 2006 the inspectors assessed the quality of education provided in this school as good and stated that the educational and pastoral needs of the children are being well met.[2]

The school, on 24 October 2001, launched an Enrichment Programme, described as "unique and ground breaking", which is a pupil-driven learning opportunity. The project was funded for £54,000 over three years by the Department of Education's School Improvement Initiative and, uniquely, moderated by the Stranmillis University College.[3]

Sport

The school has a successful Rugby Union team. In June 2001 they won the Ulster mini-rugby championships, and previously the Belfast Area Tournament Championship trophy and the Inchmarlo Trophy.[4]
